AP's Letter

Dear A.E. Wright Families,

I am honored to welcome you to the 2022-2023 school year. As your newly appointed Assistant Principal, I look forward to working with and supporting your students. I am excited to work with our amazing staff and community to provide an exceptional school year for all of our students. 

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I have been a School Counselor for the last ten years in the Simi Valley Unified School District, where I was an intern for two years prior. I have my Master’s Degree in Counseling and Guidance, as well as my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. 

During my tenure in Simi Valley, I assisted with curriculum development to increase access to courses that allow students more access to colleges and universities, at the site and county levels. I taught our College and Career Seminar course for incoming 9th graders, allowing them to earn college credits and create meaningful plans for high school and beyond. I am passionate about helping students become the best version of themselves, which is my motivation in everything I do. 

I have experience working with a variety of students, from the high-achieving to students who need more support, and enjoy working with all of them! I have worked with students admitted to Harvard, and students who graduate from continuation high school to become successful through non-traditional routes. I hold the strong belief that every student can learn and succeed, with every journey to success being unique. I am so grateful for the opportunity to serve the A.E. Wright community and look forward to utilizing my experience to assist the A.E. Wright community.
