Gale Virtual Reference Library includes online versions of some of our most popular reference books. Includes Grzimek s Animal Life Encyclopedia, UXL Encyclopedia of Biomes, Fashion Through the Ages, Jr. Worldmark Encyclopedia of the Nations, Jr. Worldmark Encyclopedia of Foods and Recipes of the World. This database also indexes some of the more popular magazines and newspapers used for research.
World Book Online Reference Center is a great source containing every article from the 22-volume print set. Included are maps, editor-reviewed Web sites and multimedia activities.
ProQuest CultureGrams allows anytime access to the same version we have in the library. Includes information on the countries of the world, maps, recipes and more.

The Calabasas Public Library is a great resource right in our own backyard. You can check out their library catalog to see if they have the book you want to read. You can also connect to the databases that the Calabasas Public Library subscribes to. You will need a library card to access the online databases. See Mrs. Ammon for an application, or visit the library and discover this fabulous resource for yourself.
The Los Angeles Public Library has a number of on-line resources including full-text magazine & newspaper articles, biographical databases, and more. There is also a great "Teen Web" portal linking you to sites needed for research and information at the middle school and high school level. You will need your LAPL card to connect to the databases on this site. You can apply for a library card at the Platt or Woodland Hills branch or on-line.
The County of Los Angeles Public Libraries also has a number of on-line resources available from any computer with internet access. Remote access to Online Databases requires a County of Los Angeles Public Library card. To access these databases, please click on the database you wish to search, enter your County Library Card Number (13 digits, no spaces) and click "proceed" or "login". For information about obtaining a County of Los Angeles Public Library card visit the Westlake Village or Agoura Hills branch to obtain one.
